Anosmia is inability to perceive odour. Anosmia may be permanent or it may be affected temporarily according to the disease. Hyperosmia is the term used for increased ability to smell and another medical term is hyposmia which is used to indicate the decreased ability to smell. Specific Anosmic is the term used for people who are unable to smell for one particular odour.
